Nawaraj Bhattarai, PhD is a Senior Research Consultant (Health Economics) in the team and has extensive experience with systematic review of economic evaluations, within-trial economic analysis, economic modelling, budget impact assessment and preference elicitation methods such as discrete choice experiment and contingent valuation method.

Prior to joining Cytel, Nawaraj worked in UK academia and the NHS for over 12 years, more recently in the Health Economics Group at Population Health Sciences Institute, Newcastle University for 8+ years. He also brings experience in research proposal writing, teaching in postgraduate health economics module and working within a diverse research team. As a NIHR Research Design Service (RDS)  North East and North Cumbria (NENC) advisor and NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) NENC fellow, he also provided health economic methodology advice to researchers and grant applicants. He has published a number of peer-reviewed journal articles mostly in the area of health economics.

Nawaraj holds a PhD in health economics from Newcastle University, UK. As a Senior Research Consultant, he leads multiple health economics projects.
